This Fridays Feature is a Fellow Estian , whom I had met  over a  year ago. What I love about her shop, is the creative way she recycles an old item into something new. Having purchased several of her items, the craftsmanship, or should I say craftswomanship is awesomely beautiful. May I introduce you to the owner of 3 wonderful Etsy shops.....

Tell us about yourself:
My name is Nathalie, I'm 47 years old and have been married for the past 23 years to a wonderful husband. I have 3 beautiful children.
From as far back as I can remember I've always recycled, even as a child I would recycled to use the fabric on my dolls. And with my family it's an important part of our life, to reduce our carbon imprint.

 This weeks featured business is another Etsy business. Well Actually it's 2 Etsy shops run by the same person. I know herfrom being on the same Esty team, TOBI Promotion Team. Jo,  like April was one of those first people I met that I had conversations with on Etsy. and was  helpful with figuring things out. She is also a talented designer,  I have  purchased Christmas Cards from her that she made!

Tell us about yourself:
I a mom of one awesome 5 year old boy and married to a wonderful husband. I love to decorate with family pictures and items that don't come from department stores and try my best to find things made in the USA. We have two fun cats and I am a cat lover so there are cat figures all through out the house.

What does your business offer?
I have 2 shops on Etsy. Found For You which offers everything vintage and antique for your home. Found For You Supplies and as you can tell by the name it's all supplies. The supplies in this shop are one of a kind or I have a small quantity.
All items sold in my shops come from various places like estate sales and are never from a wholesale company. I like to help other out instead of big corporations.

How did you get started in your line of business?
Someone from my antique Co-op shop told me about Etsy a few years ago and I've been hooked ever since. I love to shop and this gives me a much needed outlet with a return.

What inspires you?
Everything old and unique.







  

Is there something special or a favorite item in your shop at the moment?
I love wooden spools that are empty or with thread. They are so much fun to photograph and each collection get a special name.



 



How do you promote your work?
Usually through the Etsy threads but recently I join Facebook. Sometimes I do flea markets to help promote my business too.

  What is something you've learned since starting your business? Keep it simple and keep it organized.

  Any advice?
Just because you don't like it doesn't mean someone else won't

Fridays Featured Business = Beloved Embroidery

  This weeks  Featured business I met through Dizzybusy's Mamas' Train, which is  done nightly on Facebook and starting on her Network.  She was one of the "Consistent Businesses" that was showing up and I could have conversations with. And she is a VERY Talent Designer!

 What does your business create/off?

Beloved Embroidery  offers custom and personalized embroidery and unique gifts for the whole family. We work with you to create your special design. there is never an extra charge for custom orders.

 

 

 

How did you get started in your line of business? 

I have been involved with crafts for years and sewing  for over 45 years. I love the look of embroidery.  I did it the old fashioned was when I was younger (by hand), but it was tedious. Now, with the advantages of professional  embroidery machines, the possibilities are endless.

 

 

What inspires you?

I love looking through embroidery patterns and can spend hours thinking of ways I can use them. My customers also are a great inspiration; I have been asked " can you do this", or " can you  make this" and I love the challenge to see what I can come up with. And  I love material. There is just something about taking material, cutting it up, and making a useful article out of it.

 

 

 

Is there something special or favorite in your shop at the moment?

Yes. My terry cloth aprons are the biggest sellers and I am always hearing people say they have looked all over and never can find these aprons.  I have plain aprons, aprons with pockets, novelty aprons with pockets and a dish towel sewn into the waist band, and also bib aprons.

How do you promote your work?

I belong to craft groups, social networks and also email. Word of mouth has also sent customers to me. I carry business cards and pass them out all the time - doctor's office, dentist, department stores. i have even passed them out to police at our town parades, and at traffic stops; once they are done checking license, etc I hand them m,y card. If someone is with in arm's length, hand them a business card.

 What is something you have learned since starting your business?

You have to stay on top of it and advertise, advertise advertise. You cannot just set up a website and not market it. You have to continually " put it out there".

Any Advise?

If you are passionate about something, go for it. Never give up. Sucess does not come overnight.

 This week  Feature Business is  from New York ... State! Actually  Oneida, New York. She is one of the first people I met on Etsy that actually... talked to me!   April is a go getter and organizer and visionary and from her bio... well you read it  and tell me this woman isn't awesomely talented!

I can be your best friend or your worst enemy. I take friendship seriously. I do not gossip  or stab people in the back. I will be there if you need me if not  physically, then spiritually. So, if  you are looking for a real friend, I am it Do not use or abuse me.
I hate liars, cheaters, thieves, and fake people. So, if you are in my live to make me miserable then leave.

I am a wife, mother, a Certified Teacher's Aide. I own my own business. I am a Member of the Town Youth  Bureau. I have 3 Children; Christopher Austin, Daniel Klish, and Brooke Klish. I am a stepmother  to Josh, Shelby, Amanda, and Katrina Lewin. ( I call her super Mom for this reason!) I am a member of the Clockville Fire  Women's Auxiliary.  I was lucky enough to reconnect and marry the man I have loved since I was 14!


What does your business offer?
 Treasure Seekers is a family owned and operated multi-vendor market. We strive for friendly and excellent customer service. We also strive to provide a relaxed and Happy atmosphere and a clean safe environment for both vendors and customers. Our goal is to give back to the community by donating to the American Cancer Society and hosting fundraisers for several different organizations. Our vendors offer a variety of items such as glassware, crafts, gifts, CDs, DVDs, books, candles, vintage, antiques and so much more. New Vendors are always welcomed!

We also offer Estate Sale Services. If you are in need of selling the contents of an estate, we take care of the process for you. From the on-site consultation and generating the inventory list, to selling, we handle every aspect  of your sale with great care. Doing research on each item to get you the best possible price.

We serve the Madison, Oneida, and Onondaga Counties of New York.

How did you get started in your line of business?

We started out doing craft shows. About a year later we set up a booth at a local vendor market. We went from there to an indoor year round flea market. I managed this for about a year. My husband and I had wanted to open just a small shop of our own, but then started to think... why not open another vendor market. We than started to look for a place to lease or rent. In May of 2011 we opened our Mini Mall with just 3 vendors. We now have more than 20.



What inspires you?

My husband. Also, I see what other shops similar to ares do and think how can we do it better or how  can we do it differently.

Is there something special or favorite item in your shop at the moment?

 We have such a large selection, that it's hard to choose one. So I will say this, when you walk through our Mall you can g from the  present to past  and back again in just a few steps. Some people get the feeling of nostalgia.

How do you promote your business?
We do newspaper ads, handout flyers, use our website and Facebook page/ We also  use some Facebook promotion pages.

 What is something that you have learned since starting your business?
A business goes through a lot of changes within the first year. I have definitely learned what not to do. The first year of  business is absolutely a learning experience.  You learn what you should do and what you should not do.  You learn that while in the store, your vendors are just that... vendors, but outside of the store they can be  your friends.

Any advise?
Stick to your guns. You cannot please all of the people all of the time.  Remember that it takes at least 3 years for a business to be successful. Listen to what your customers have to say. They are your best critics.

Fridays Featured Business Blog AndThe Birth of a Network

Ok I said Friday was going to be Featuring Businesses. Well  I decided when I came up with idea that I needed to do this one First! Why? Because it isn't a Businesses... But a Place to Do Business Or Better Yet, .... A place to learn, share,  and vent frustrations. A place  that will give you a pick me up when  down.  The Cheerleader as it were for the team!

  This is also the first  friend that I have met in person since  join the Online Marketing and Social Media community.

I want to introduce you to the one the only the "Big Mama" herself ( and adorable too!)  Dizzybusy Mama herself... Mama T.

  I am 37, a mother of 4 and happily married. I originally started out seeking a home business to work around the family. I ended up loving meeting the vendors at expos and exchanging ideas. Then enters the God breeze to my life. One night cuddled up to my laptop feet under my bottom I looked at my husband and said I think I will create a FB page for moms. Then the name flew out of my mouth and up went  the page this past April. A month later we grew into a directory and resource site at www.dizzybusymamas.com. Many moms on FB had questions on  the basics on how to get their business going. Some had their own business ,not a franchise biz with starter kits. My passion to help ignited and we tried to hit on all points for visitors as you will see there. Many business leaders started popping up telling me we could be the next FB if done carefully. A good friend and social media guru lead me to the path where we established the social network www.dizzybusymamas.net and launched this mid fall. On our network, users can create free profile pages, set privacy settings, albums (which we call bragbooks) and more. Oh and we don't have a "Like" button we have a "Love" button. LOL! You will see my quirky humor all over both sites. We as moms need a playground to laugh, share, smile and feel supported. You can choose your forum to fit your needs best for your idea. We have Dizzybusy Clubs which is our groups that people can join and BlogMama where we host our growing blog community. You are welcome to do it all to fit your vision.

 Dizzybusy Mamas offers many things to help take the dizzybusy out of any persons life. Whether it is advertising your business, networking, learn how to save money,  and so much more. There is something for everyone. We offer support for your dream in motion. We offer support and friendship in your journey. Come on in!
 

What inspires you? Watching my Mamas and Papas put their dreams in motion. The one thing I am most proud of is my kids seeing and talking about the Mamas. They see the businesses in motion all stemming from a vision or dream and it shows them anything is possible with hard work. I am so proud of my Mamas and Papas for that. I use all the typical social medias. For example Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Digg, and many more.
 

What is something you've learned since starting your business? 
I have schooled myself on alot of things so far. I built both sites myself. That was a learning experience in itself let me tell you. Then I was blessed to find Mama Christa. She put my vision for our template look into a reality.

Any Advice?

Many things happen for a reason so keep that in mind when things happen. Something you may not have looked for or planned for may happen at some point. Remember to keep your heart open and really listen or look. I have truly learned the definition of a God Breeze with Dizzybusy Mamas and I would have missed it if I hadn't taken time to listen.
